Automotive Technician

Location: Boothbay, ME

Are you passionate about providing exceptional customer service? Do you thrive in a team-oriented environment that values work-life balance? If so, we want you to join our team as a Automotive Technician at ROWES Garage.We are looking for someone who has prior experience as an automotive technician  and desires to continue growing as a professional, and as a person. We need an expert communicator, someone who can work with advanced technology, be a team player, and work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

Service, repair, assemble, and recondition equipment as assigned by the service manager/writer.

  • Complete complimentary inspection on every vehicle that is brought into the shop, complete list of recommendations from this inspection.
  • Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed.
  • Perform any inspections as required.
  • Use shop software to view work orders, do inspections, order parts, take pictures of broken or damaged parts and complete all necessary documentation / recommendations. 
  • Explaining mechanical problems and possible solutions to clients
  • Planning work and testing procedures using charts, experience and other organizational methods
  • Testing parts and systems to ensure they work correctly.
  • Ensuring all critical parts are checked and tested.
  • Performing basic automotive care, including changing oil and rotating tires. 
  • Repairing or replacing worn, old or defective parts of a vehicle.
  • Repairing or modifying a car to a client’s specifications, if possible
  • Repair, service or assemble any machines.
  • Keep accurate, easy-to-read records of work performed.
  • Document and communicate any recommendations to the Service manager/writer on duty. 
  • Maintain and care for all shop tools, machines and equipment.
  • Suggest any additional repairs needed to the service manager and/or customer.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness, neatness and safety of buildings and lots.
  • Stay current with technical changes, continuing your education by factory service schools, etc.
  • Adhere to company work safety policies and maintain safe work habits at all times.
  • Supply your own hand tools and toolbox.

  • Maine State Inspection License 
  • Previous experience as automotive technician
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
